Wednesday, 19th October 2005, 16:40Drugs firms will be invited to tender for a contract to supply a vaccine for every Briton to guard against a flu pandemic, the Government announced today.

A 'sleeping contract' will be awarded to a drugs company which will only spring into action once the virus has been detected and if a vaccine developed.
