Graham Darbyshire, 52, of Elm Grove. Leyland, pleaded not guilty to six charges of rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and making a threat to kill involving the two allegdd victims.

Charlie Webster, 12, was walking home near the city centre when the incident happened opposite the BP garage in Garstang Road. The Asian robber was around 5ft 6ins tall and aged about 15. He was wearing a black Nike tracksuit and a woollen hat pulled down to his eyes.

Mark Eade, of Marfield Close, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Preston magistrates. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and an order was made for the cannabis plant to be destroyed. No order for costs was made.
