Darrell Hamamoto, a film professor, watches porno flicks like Rush Limbaugh pops Oxycotin--daily, but without a doctor's permission. He wants to know what "gets you off" and what makes you "hard" or "wet." From "Debbie Does Dallas" to "The Joy Fuck Club," Hamamoto believes that Asian Americans must fight against the "White Porno Supremacy" in mainstream U.S. porn.

Forget Thursday Nights on NBC, Hamamoto could care less about the Perk Cafe crew; rather he wants to see an Asian American version of Too Live Crew on extra-strength gin seng. The larger implications of these questions are what type of faces and bodies are desirable and what are not (think: Jerry Lewis at Krispy Kremes).

Enter film erotica today, and the average porn connoisseur will tell you that Asian American men are "missing in action." Yet, Asian women are bona fide cash cows in interracial movies from Tokyo, Bangkok, Berlin, and Amsterdam. From Asian Carrera to Kobe Tai, the fetish of Asian women taking "it" from White or Black performers is an industry mainstay.

Hamamoto refuses stereotypes of Asian American men who may not have the "right equipment" in taking on a lead actor role. In fact, he names anti-Asian racism in the film industry as the main culprit.

An $8 billion industry, the consumption of U.S. porn is widespread and growing. In the past, porn conjured up images of perverts and vice, dirty old men with polyester trench coats in shadowy theaters. Today, porn has become 'N Sync mainstream, where the sale of videos and films can be found even in mainstays of U.S business, from mom-and-pop video stores to large multinational corporations including Marriot and Time Warner.

Old school feminism attacked pornography for its objectification of women, using matters of sexuality as having important political significance. Orgasms gave way to political correctness. Today, pornography is hip, even chic--Porn Star t-shirts adorn rock stars like one-night groupies.
