The neighbor occasionally had problems with the house on some weekend nights and on days of football games. Other than that, her contact with the house is minimal.
The neighbor said she has lived in the same house since 1973, and most of neighborhood is filled with families and retirees. Despite the close location to CU, there are not many students living in the area.
The party house is a rental with an ”owner who is not responsible," the neighbor said. Rental houses in the neighborhood tend to have most of the ”problem residents" and violate zoning laws by having more than three unrelated people in one house, she also stated.
The City of Boulder will investigate the house to verify if it is breaking zoning laws. ”We're not trying to be mean, old creatures who don't like parties, we're trying to keep this a nice neighborhood," said the neighbor.
Officers did not write minor-consumption or minor-in-possession tickets at the party because ”Our goal was to confront the root of the problem, and that was the supplying alcohol to anyone," said Brooks.
On Sept. 23, after attending fraternity parties on the Hill, nine women were hospitalized for suspicion of alcohol over-intoxication. Two of the women have tested positive for the date-rape drug GHB.
The police report offered no indication on how many people attended the party, but since there were so many kegs it is possible that the hosts expected plenty of attendees, said Brooks.
A resident of the house who did not want to be identified noted there were discrepancies in the police report as to the age of one of the party throwers and how many kegs were confiscated.
